Day 1
We head north over the scenic du Toits Kloof Pass through Worcester
and up into the Great Karoo – famous for its lamb –
to the historic town of Matjiesfontein. The landscape, vegetation
and especially the geology in this area will captivate you today!
Millions of years ago this area was a marshland – today a
semi desert! Enjoy lunch and hospitality on a farm before travelling
on through seven weeks pass where you are guaranteed to run out
of film! We head onto Calitzdorp and Oudtshoorn –the ostrich
capital of the world where you will overnight.
Day 2
A visit to the Cango Caves before crossing the awesome and historical
Swartberg Pass to Prince Albert for lunch and returning to Oudtshoorn
via Meiringspoort where we will visit an Ostrich Farm. We overnight
in the same B&B.
Day 3
After breakfast we head for the coastal town of George via the Outeniekwa
Pass to arrive in the Garden Route. We head on to the Wilderness
and through the Lake Districts to Knysna and visit the Heads and
if there is time some shopping! We overnight in Knysna at the same
B&B for two nights.
Day 4
We head further East for Plettenberg Bay, Natures Valley and Tsitsikamma
and visit to the Knysna Elephant Park where you can touch and feed
an elephant!
Day 5
We head back to Cape Town via the Diaz Museum in Mossel Bay, Albertinia,
Riverdale, Swellendam and Hermanus And the coastal road back to
Cape Town.
